I really think that FCA could and should bring back this iconic truck. Like the 1970's we are at a crucial time for cars/trucks. Hybrids and electric cars are gaining ground, fuel standards for cars are more stringent and trucks are selling like hot cakes.

FCA already has done most of the work, just gotta slap some existing parts together and presto. instant classic.

Take one of these:

4X2 Dodge Ram 1500 with a BENCH SEAT!!!

Pop in the drivetrain from the Trackhawk, same with the brakes and other goodies as needed.

Throw on two badass stacks, shouldn’t be too hard given all the bros who have found a way.

And there you go!

You know what....don’t do the hellcat motor for a revival of the LRE . Just do the NA 6.4 hemi. I don’t think you’ve ever been able to get that in a regular cab pickup and it would make a nice nostalgic hurrah for natural aspiration.

....now they definitely should do a hellcat ram though. Don't know what to call it besides bringing back the Rumble Bee name. Maybe call it the Hellsteed or Felhorse or something demonic like that?

one can build their own stepside box in seven years or less too.  I did.  I toyed with the idea of making my Toyota the “JAPAN OVERNIGHT EXPRESS”  but needed to go stacks to complete the joke, just not a stacks guy.  But it would have been brilliant.

The fact that FCA hasn’t done this yet is almost mind blowing. It completely fits with their current business model, and they would easily sell every one that could build, probably at whatever price they wanted to charge.

Hell, I’m surprised a Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge-Ram- SRT - Fiat dealer hasn’t done their own yet.

Saddest part of this is that it would have to be a 2500 because Ram doesn’t have a 1500 regular cab any more.

Yes they do, the 2018 models are being carried into 2019 as a “classic” model, and the new body style regular cabs are set to hit sometime this year as a 2020 model year.

Duuuude.... I would try to find a way to get one if they did this. I think they absolutely need to not have the dial shifter though. I hate them with a passion.
